March 2025 Updates: Since its premiere at the New Next Film Festival in October, The Periscopic Gaze has been selected into the Touchstone Film Festival, where it was nominated for best Sound Design and Original Score. In recent weeks, the film has been selected for inclusion into the Maryland International Film Festival (3/20-3/23) in Hagerstown, Maryland and The Feminist Border Arts Film Festival in Las Cruces, New Mexico (6/5-6/7).
The Periscopic Gaze gets it World Premiere at the New/Next Film Festival in Baltimore, October 3 – 6. Super excited to share it with cast/crew friends and family! Stay tuned for date/time!
Producing this film has been a labor of love. In 2022 I was awarded production funds from the Saul Zaentz Innovation Fund at Johns Hopkins to produce the Periscopic Gaze. In 2023 I was also awarded a Docs in Progress Legacy Fellowship to push this labor of love through post-production. In 2024 I received the Center of Fine Arts and Communication Dean’s Research Award from Towson University.
The film is now moving onto the festival circuit. Stay tuned for its 2024 premiere.
